PSI Botanical Surveys and Wildflower Harvesting

PSI has produced a large coffee table book in a funded project that enabled collection of over 1000 plant species from the Paardeberg during the resurgence of Fynbos after a wildfire burnt most of the Paardeberg in 2011. A duplicate collection was made for the Compton herbarium, and a field herbarium has been established at Vondeling Wine Estate. It is open for visitors by appointment.

PSI also offers excursions on the Paardeberg, Groenberg and Paarl Mountain for botanical enthusiasts, at a modest R300 per person (minimum 3 people). The book is available at R1600 a copy from the PSI office.
